Training/Friends & Family Days

From time to time all wings of the armed forces open their doors for the 'friends and family' open days. These take various themes and mainly serve as good will gestures towards those working within the region of military units.

Some of the photographs here were taken from a 'friends & family training day. The below shows a joint RAF and Army show piece for local guests of a military town.

In today's modern climate of public debate regarding the conflicts military personnel find themselves in, we need to step back and review our concerns.

We call upon our armed services to make sacrifices everyone of us holds dear to our hearts, that being life. Whether we agree with the political point is another matter, but for the politicians that send our friends and family to conflicts, we must demand the highest standards for those that are either serving or have served.

We need to separate our views about conflict, the political view we hold should never detract us from the support we offer both serving and non serving men and women from the armed forces.

Although some people view these days a waste of money, the rewards for those taking part and watching strengthen the ethos of military units and go toward a small thank you for communities they live within.
